Earring Guide

Haniken Jewelers offer wide selection of diamond and gemstone earrings. Crafted in white gold, yellow gold or platinum earrings make a perfect gift for any occasion.

Stud Earrings
The main characteristic of stud earrings is the appearance of floating on the ear or earlobe without a visible (from the front) point of connection. Studs are invariably constructed on the end of a post, which penetrates straight through the ear. The post is held in place by a removable friction back or clutch. Occasionally, the stud earring is constructed so that the post is threaded, allowing a screw back to securely hold the earring in place. This is useful in preventing the loss of fine earrings containing precious stones or made of precious metals.
When shopping for studs consider the size and shape of center stones. Be creative and pick an unusual color stone for your stud earrings that will compliment your outfit.

Hoop Earrings
Hoop earrings are circular or semi-circular in design, and look very similar to a ring. They are often constructed of metal tubing, with a thin wire attachment penetrating the ear. The hollow tubing is permanently attached to the wire at the front of the ear, and slips into the tube at the back. The entire device is held together by tension between the wire and the tube. Other hoop designs do not complete the circle, but penetrate through the ear in a post, using the same attachment techniques that apply to stud earrings. Haniken Jewelers offer a wide range of diamond hoop earring that come in a circle, oval or half-circle designs.
When shopping for hoop earrings consider the length and the width. Different lengths are suitable for different face shapes.

Huggie Earrings
Huggies are a popular style of earring where the setting actually 'hugs' your earlobe. These can come in different shapes and sizes, from hearts to rectangles. Most times, stones are pave, prong or channel set in huggy earrings. When shopping for huggy earrings consider picking earrings that will compliment your outfit. For the most part huggy earrings go well with any face shape.

Chandelier Earrings

This is a classic which can turn the simplest day wear into something very sophisticated. It is also a great jewelry to wear for evening events. Chandelier earrings are at once elegant, unique, and strong as pieces of jewelry. When shopping for chandelier earrings consider the size and length, your face shape and colors of your outfit. Bigger chandelier earring does not always mean better. Chandelier earrings should not touch your shoulder and should not be worn with overpowering hairstyles or outfits.

When buying earrings as a gift pick colors and metals that match her current jewelry and style.
